I love my R26 but the one thing that lets it down is the headlights - they are very poor in terms of brightness. So, without going down the route of Xenon conversion, whats my best option to get the headlights more powerful? Different bulbs? Or is there another solution?
all halogen bulbs are pretty much the same light output. if you want real brightness might be better of going down the route of a hid kit am not sure which one tho. because there’s so many out there but some one on here might be able to point you in the right direction. The previous owner of my R26 fitted a HID kit but the headlights were still like using candles especially on an unlit road. I decided to wet sand and machine polish the lights, i then got a wooden kebab stick with cotton wool on the end and cleaned out the projector housing (back of glass bulb bit). Finally i found a hoover fits perfectly and seals around the indicator bulb holes which caused enough of a seal and vacuum it sucked all the old dirt, dead flies and dust out of the whole headlight unit. Result is lights that are 1000x better. Took me about 2 hours one evening and 3 cold beers.
i use philips white vision ultra pretty good very white. 4200 kelvin. i would like to get a hid kit but don’t really fancy faffin around make holes in the covers and wouldn’t really know which hid kit to go with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
