Hi, New to the forum, new owner, loving the car. I've had my brand new RS Cup 265 Premium for about 6 weeks now. Loving the car, but the R-Link is soooooo glitchy it's not funny. Example Issues; RS Monitor keeps dropping out - no readings on any dials at all, not recognizing & displaying current gear. R-Link not displaying 'Sport Mode' when in Sport Mode. Sat nav doesn't even have speed cameras or streets that have been there for over 2yrs. Not really R-link but if I reset the trip computer, it doesn't start reading until I get out of the car lock up and get back in again?? Small stuff I know but for a brand new car it's bloody annoying especially as the RS Monitor is all part of the fun. I have taken it back to the dealer service centre and they reset it / updated it - worked for a day then on & off again ever since. Any advice would be appreciated. Aside from that life is good and the car is great.
Try updating the R Link yourself. I posted a step by step guide on here yesterday on how to do it. Here's the link http://www.rsmegane.com/showthread.php?7372-A-step-by-step-guide-to-updating-your-R-Link-device i had the same issues as you. But since updating yesterday, touchwood, I haven't had any issues.
make sure your engine is running before inserting your SD card back into your car. This stops the r link turning off whilst it is updating. Sorry for missing that bit out in the guide. I've put another post within that thread now with that bit of info in it. Cheers.
I've got the same problem. Most of the time it works when you reset the trip computer before you start the engine after a fill.
I've had virtually all of the issues you mention on the Trophy, but only once or twice each. TBH, I don't think updating the software made any difference. I think it's best left alone for a while when you first start up, to boot up properly, before changing any settings or going to a different mode. This seems to help. I personal bugbear of mine is the music changing from media/usb to radio on it's own. I once persisted in forcing it back to usb every time it changed (every 30 seconds) and got the whole way to work (20 miles) without it settling down. If I leave it alone it switches back to usb and then is fine for the rest of the journey. Temperamental yeah, but what you gonna do? If you wanted quality, you should have bought a Ford - only joking
Mine used to freeze everyday. It would work if the car had been stood a while, but as soon as you stop for 10 mins or so and get back in the car, it would freeze. But, since I updated yesterday it hasn't frozen once. And my missing RS Monitor button has come back too!! Lol.
I've never had the missing button and almost never stop for short periods so maybe that explains why I've not had problems as bad as others.
My button went missing a few days ago. Can still access it from the home screen. It disappeared 2 days after I updated it. Other then that I've not had issues with it not reading or being weird
Another annoying thing is that you have to wait a few minutes before using the satnav. It also does not sync al my contacts from my iPhone.
