Quick question

Discussion in 'Megane Discussion' started by TurboFlorio, Aug 9, 2016.

  1. Are there any ways to know for sure the car is been remapped or not? Except for dyno ofcourse.

Turbo boost reaches 1.3bar max in 4th and 5th gear, both on rs monitor and trough obd2 bluetooth connected to Torque app.
In normal mode it only goes to 1bar on rs monitor, didn't check on obd.

    Edit: talking about a megane 3 rs265

  2. Went to dyno
    253hp @~5000rpm
    393nm @~3000rpm
    30°C (85F?)
Seems strange to have less hp but More torque, due to the hot weather and the car was hot from a long trip it had a little less hp, but 12hp less?

It had an bmc Air filter.
Error messages about esp, would it made a difference if he disabled it completly?

My R26 has always had more torque than bhp so sounds normal as I guess the Mk3 Megane is the same.

I know some cone filters perform worse than standard airbox and a cone filter in this weather will suffer heat soak. I don't think BMC is the best available.

The warning message is because the dyno has confused the esp so should have disappeared after driving a short distance.

  4. Seems not too bad, every dyno is different but are more useful to get a reading when a car is standard and then compare the difference that modifications make, than to find the exact power.

The esp error might be because the front wheels are turning on the dyno while the rears are stationary, confusing the esp system.

  5. Yes, the esp warning was because of the rears being stationary, It went away after 5min. The bmc filter is just a replacement panel for the Stock one, not a CAI or cone.

Anyway I'm happy with the results, I guess it's safe to say it's not been remapped, meaning I can get more power!
