225 Problem reading ECU calibration

  1. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas.

As using MPPS software to read the ECU calibration is failing on my car. It begins to read, the fans kick in etc like normal it then it just fails.

The sample laptop with MPPS can read from other Meganes, toyotas, you name it - without issue.

We have disconnected the battery for 12+ hours, disconnected the ECU for 12+ hours. We purchased a brand new battery and have it on charge when reading?

    Yet it still fails.

The ECU is working because the car runs, and the RSTuner software I have (on another laptop) can read and write the calibration.

This IS NOT a problem with the RSTuner locking anything because I trust the developer of this and I have spoken to him directly about it.

What might mean that we cannot read the calibration?

Will some particular error codes stop it?

    Thanks.

  2. You may find that maps somehow "lock" the calibration so that it can't be downloaded and duplicated. Its not something I really understand though.

  3. As I mentioned, it is not that.

  4. You should be pretty careful with this kind of tools near that Sagem ECU. I had once a problem and the ECU deleted everything in the eeprom (starting codes, VIN number, config everything). Maybe you should try a different tool, more official to say like this: a byteshooter or a piasini.

If you still don't manage to do it, maybe I can help you with a BS near Coventry

  5. Thanks. Still no luck, not sure how to try those tools. what do you mean by BS?
