Private plates

  1. Just a quick one to ask how much of a ball ache is it getting a private plate from buying to eventually fitting. Did it take ages?

Seen a few 'CUP' plates which I think may work so just tempted.

    Cheers

  2. If you buy it from the DVLA then it can be transferred straight onto a car there and then. You will then send your V5 off to be replaced and it's returned with your new tax disc and then just a case of informing the insurance company.

  3. I got a 'CUP' plate from DVLA recently and it was all pretty easy to be honest, as Ben says send off you V5 to be replaced and they also send you a new MOT and tax disc. It was all surprising quick and efficient for the DVLA!

  4. Brilliant thanks guys.

  5. like what mr mumby???

  6. Not sure mate I'd prefer the older prefix style. Mainly as there only 179 rather than 500!

  7. lol cheap skate!

  8. Private plates are pretty hassle free, I used to prefer going to the local dvla office to sort things but now there closed you have to send it to Swansea but it's fairly quick return, about a week.

Only thing my plate owes me over a grand now due to having to put it on retention or transfer every time I get a new car lol

  9. It's not too bad Corey, I've got 4 of the dam things lol
