Here's a rather random query! Just wondering if anyone else has ever had experience with a power drop from cold where the car actually feels like it's being restricted, then it takes off again then drops in power on and off until the car is up to temperature? This really only happens after heavy rain so that's why I'm wondering if it's an electrical/earth fault or do I just put it down to one of those French quirks? It's a ph2 225 cup.
Other than the drivers window not working and the other standard issues like sporadic dash lights, not that I'm aware of!
The other week my Mrs could not start the car as the dashboard was going mad and would not let her start it. I took out the fuse box and cleaned up the contacts and sprayed the connectors with contact cleaner(wd 40)and put back together again and hey presto it started first time! If you decide to do this check out the YouTube video on electrical fault! This all happened after a very hard downpour. It may help you. Sometimes my car said electrical fault or the card would not be read and also to open the boot it would usually take about 6 presses of the key fob. Now the boot opens up first time every time and I have not had any electrical problems since. Only took about 30 mins from start to finish. Just for reference, when my battery died the dash displayed all manner of weird symbols and crap. Might be worth checking the standing voltage of the battery (engine off) and making sure it is giving a good 12.4-12.7V.
Cheers for the tip GSI, I'll give that a whirl!! Ewan, I had this issue before and after getting a new battery so sadly not that, my response to most things is "Ach she's French" but this morning power issues almost resulted in me being overtaken and we can't have that!!!!
