I drove over a huge pothole and got a flat spot on my alloy, wheel bearing needs attention and damaged the top suspension mount. I have got the mount fixed and wheel bearing but wondered could I still claim from the council? A similar thing happened 3 years ago and the council told me to measure the pothole, picture and draw the road and then said they can not be held responsible.
Potholes that have been reported previously so they are aware, you can not claim on. Also it is all down to dimensions of the size.
