Have looked after this car for years and got a call about the car going up for sale, would I want to give it a final cleanup for the dealership I thought for all of half a second before saying yes. Only the after shots but this thing in the flesh really is amazing, the engineering is staggering. Car was cleaned up a few little bits attended too and then checked over, if your numbers come in this week it's up for grabs here:http://www.romansinternational.com/car/243/porsche-carrera-gt
Wow Ed - AMAZING Hopefully the next owner will also be a customer of yours! Any idea what that RUF module is in the front?
Thanks mate yeah it's got the full ruf lifter kit factory fitted, bit of a must on this thing and it's unmarked underneath.
Yeah it'll be interesting to see how that turns out! It's a sad case but at the end of the day the guy was driving too fast and lost control and the situation went very sour. If every manufacturer had to pay out every time someone damaged their car through driver error they'd all be bust!
Got to be the definition of a frivolous case - they were doing 94mph on impact, in a 45mph zone. Daughter who has brought the case is just 16 - so that's normal. Anyway, off topic. The Porsche is fantastic. Didn't realise there was only 49 cars imported into the UK.
Thats the rear suspension. Its called pushrod and is what you see on high end cars and race cars. Taken from - http://press.porsche.com/archive/pr...pdf/carrera_gt/carrera_gt_new_levels_2006.pdf "Where many cars use MacPherson spring struts, the Carrera GT’sspring and damper elements are operated by stainless steel pushrods and pivot levers, whichseparate the guidance function from the spring action. Advantages include more sensitiveresponse and behavior as well as precise suspension tuning for both high and low speeds" Basically its a F**king beast.
Awesome! Thank you They looked too flat to be the suspension but guess it's not a normal set up on a £650k car lol
