Polishing by hand

  1. I went over a cone on track a while back so have a nice orange smudge on my sill and I'm hoping I can use an abrasive polish to get it off. I usually use R222 Paintwork cleanser on a microfibre applicator but I know the R222 doesn't really have any cutting abilities, so what sort of polish should I be looking at?

Also, what sort of applicator will work best? Am I better off with something like a Lake Country Hydro Tech hand pad, or will a microfibre applicator by good enough?

  2. I'd just use t-cut

  3. you tried clay first? that'd be my first hit

  4. I tried a clay mitt over it but it didn't get rid of it.

I got some Menzerna medium cut polish but I've not had the chance to try it out yet.

Even something like SRP should remove it pretty easily.

  6. I didn't think SRP had any cutting properties? I would have put SRP in the same bracket as the R222 I have, but I could easily be wrong.

Meguiars m205 would do the trick if as above clay bar doesn't remove it
