R26 Play past inner steering arm ball joint

  2. Fortunately I've found the replacement bushes TFD sell - hopefully that'll be the ticket, as the existing bush is in pieces in the boot.

    How does one get an original inner arm off?
     
  3. That looks beautiful to remove. What symptoms where you having? I have a slight knocking when I wiggle the steering side to side when stationary.
     
  4. Knocking when wiggling the steering wheel from side to side. Very loud knocking, mind.

    It also knocked over some bumps.

    To be fair your symptoms could be anything from hub bearings to track rods. Get it looked at :smile:
     
  5. Yeah I get that too. Suspect it's that bush. So far I've checked the pinch bolt at the bottom of column. No play in the outer rods, pretty confident the inners are fine. And I've just done my hub bearings. It was present before I done them.
     
  6. Yeah, looks likely for that bush then!
