Plastidip on wheels

  1. When I had new tyres fitted, the nice man who fitted them used a brake on his balancer and it damaged the plastidip.

So, I had to remove it, on all four wheels. This didn't prove to be very easy!

A quick google said to soak in WD40. I soon ran out of that! So, I removed all the wheels, rubbed the WD40 in, let it soak for 20 odd minutes. This did a lot of work, but it needed some elbow grease! I finished off with Autoglym Tar and Adhesive Remover, a wash, polish and wax.

    Now they're back to normal!!

  2. Have you taken any pictures?

  3. Sorry no, was too busy cleaning!! Took me all bloody day! I'll take a pic in the morning of the shiny wheels!

  4. It took me ages to get mine off as well. Apparently if it's hard to get off you didn't put enough coats on in the first place. Lesson learnt!

  5. Yeh I thought that too, I didn't have enough plastidip to do enough coats!!

  6. Shellite
    xylene
