I'm close to having to repalce all my tyres and will probably go back to Michelins. I notice on blackcircles teh PSS and PS2s are very similar in price (a few quid only). The only main difference is teh PSS is not availabble in teh 235 wisth whereas the PS2 is. Can someone verify if the 225 width of the PSS is suitable for the R26 as my current tyres are 235. I know its not much of a difference but i just want to be sure before i fork out nearly £600. Thanks Pagey!
They'll be fine in 225. That's what I'll be going for next. Buy them from lovetyres.com, £108 a corner
yer they will fit, make sure you are doing all 4 though remember there's better dry grip but less wet grip vs the ps2 (bearing in mind it rains in england, alot!)
Just for reference, I got ps2's fitted in 225 size on my R26 as they were £25 a piece cheaper than the 235 version. They are fantastic tyres; it does bother me a little that they aren't 235's but honestly you'll never notice and I think it's a reasonable compromise. Way better than cheap Chinese tyres in the 'correct' size.
I wouldn't of thought so , michelin developed the PSS to replace the PS2 I've driven cadwell in the pouring rain on PSS and the grip they generated was unreal .. Almost like it wasn't even raining
Yer pss is B rated in the wet, ps2 is A. My mate doesnt love them on his m135i in the wet, raves about them in the dry, maybe its the rwd+torque! Plus in the tyre tests i've seen they have always scored low in wet testing. To be honest i probably would have got them on the 265 but as the fronts will be first to go i didnt wana run 225 front with 235's on the rear plus i got the ps2 for £98 in 235's.
Camskill mate, now back up to £120 odd now, i thought it was a price error...i dont even need them lol
http://www.willtheyfit.com/ this seems a good site for checking differing tyres and wheels. This site states that the maximum for a 8.5" wheel is 255 but surely they can't know if you will get fouling on the wheel arch or anything. http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/tyre-wheel-calculators/tyre-size-for-rim-size-width-calculator
I have PSS in 225 width and they fit just fine. There's a moulded in "lip" to protect your rims and it sits proud of the wheel surface as it should - doesn't look stretched at all. I've been more than happy with the wet weather performance.

You never know they are german based may get different sizes due to demand. why not buy them and find out?
