Ph2 225 Abs Pulse Ring

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Pomskiz, Jul 20, 2022.

  1. Hi guys. Just wondering from a diagnostic point of view, how does one measure the Abs sensor pulse output? For example, on a normal pulse ring with steps/teeth you can measure an AC voltage output to determine if the pulse ring is bent or the gap isn't correct. I know this type of ring doesn't have the steps so how do you measure such a thing? How does the ABS ecu know the vehicle speed if it has no "on/off" reference?

  2. you can do it with "Renault Clip" you mark the wheel and turn it one whole rotation and then it will tell you how many pulses.

  3. Yeah alright. I'm more after a back to basics diagnostic. From what I've read they are a magneto setup. So in theory, one pin should be a 12v feed, and the other a return signal. Speaking of Clip, what is the home tech solution to getting that kind of software?
