I bit the bullet and ordered the PF kit from ktec, but have since had a call to say they're not in stock and they have no lead time on them The reason for this is they're changing from the v2 mounting system, to the v3. I did however see this new v3 kit, new on eBay a couple of weeks back but can't for the life of me remember the seller....I'm sure it was Ren something? Any ideas? Anywhere else supply them? I've emailed PF directly also. Typical....
As an option, have you thought about the Brembo Gran Turismo 2-piece rotors? They're only 313mm. However, if you're not increasing the caliper/pad size then the braking contact surface area doesn't change (unless the original rotors were undersized for the calipers) so I'd guess performance should be similar to the PF kit. Benefit of lower unsprung weight as well - I had Ayshe at Ktec weigh the PF rotors and they came in slightly higher than the standard rotors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've weighed up many options believe me, and finally decided to go for the PF kit.....and nobody has then lol The brembo disc upgrade is nearly a grand and for pretty much the same size disc, albeit a bit lighter due to the 2 piece design of course. If I'm spending that kind of money then I'd at least want 330mm. It's all extra "leverage" for the stopping power I may just hold out for a bit until I hear some news about the lead time. After speaking directly with PF earlier, apparently the manager for the UK is going to the States next week to find out more on when they'll be ready. Just ordered some xp8's too:rolleyes:
I'm running Godspeed 330mm bells and rotors. No complaints and they perform well on track. Same weight as the standard discs. Can't go wrong for £500 and replacement rotors are £295 for a set.
I can lock up cup tyres using the cup setup and PF pads in the dry on track... And don't have heat issues Sure you need bigger brakes?
I ran Godspeed, together with DS 1.11,with no problems. Now running Reyland 343mm/DS 1.11. I do pick up a bit of Glazing, but easily removable.
I probably don't NEED bigger brakes to be honest, but most of us don't NEED the stuff we buy for our cars Honestly I think I got carried away a little but hey ho I appreciate the comments though
Hi mate, can you confirm if you had to remove any of the leading and trailing edge of the callipers to fit these disks underneath?
