Pedal after clutch change......

  1. Quick question for those that have had a new clutch -

Had a new dmf and r26 clutch on my 225. Also a new slave cylinder.
However clutch pedal bite point is lower than it was with old clutch, and gears are a little hard to get in to when cold, and 4/5 synchro seems a little unhappy too.

Now being a hydraulic system my thoughts are that the bite point should remain as previous as it's auto adjusting.

Is this what others have found, or is it normal with this pressure plate for the clutch to be lower?

I'm thinking that perhaps I have some air in the system, hence lower bite point and also a slight clutch drag which would cause the stiff changes.

    Any thoughts??

  2. Clutch does feel different after a SMF. it might need another good bleed its a right pain in the ass to get right!

  3. Had the same thing, biting point was only a couple of mm from the floor.
I bled it then reversed bled it.
Took me a few goes but it only takes a couple of minutes.
