R26 Outside temperature reading high

Discussion in 'Electrical & Interior - Security, ICE, Wiring Loom' started by Leigh, Sep 4, 2020.

  1. Good morning all!

I know this is a typical Renault trait, I had a clio 2 with the same issue, but I can’t find any info on the Megane.
My outside temperature display has been reading waaaay higher than it should. It was 37 this morning ha ha. Wishful thinking maybe?
Anyway, does anyone know what’s usually the culprit on the mk 2 Megane?

    Thanks.

  4. Thanks for your reply.
To be honest, I’ve not looked. I wonder if it’s the same part as the clio then? I have a spare wing mirror kicking about somewhere.

Is that what it tends to be then, the sensor? I never bothered fixing the one on the clio but it’s bugging me this time.

  5. According to that eBay link, it is the same part [emoji1303]

  6. Well, that escalated quickly!

Put the kids to bed and thought I’d pop in the garage and see if I could find the clio wing mirror. Next thing i know, I’ve got the meg mirror stripped down and I’m cutting wires!

Stripped the Megane mirror down and compared the two sensors. They are subtly different but I thought I’d give it a go anyway.

  10. I spliced the clio sensor in temporarily and...........YES! [emoji1303]

  13. Rebuilt the mirror and it works a treat!
    Unfortunately, 13deg is correct!
