Hi folks, I've gone through 2 sets of outer CV joints for both sides, in less than a year. (OEM SNR) Is there any stronger CV Joint option for Megane 3 RS ? or anyone experienced this? Or maybe something I'm doing wrong perhaps somewhere. Grease is put in place evenly spread, and boots are new and secured in place, no leaks. The car is mostly a daily but driven quite hard on track 3 times a year. Current difference to original suspension is stiffer lower balljoints, and wider OZ wheels. (18X9 ET55) Tires Nankang NS2R Power is at 260 whp/ 280 lbft
That is not good, there must be something seriously wrong, i have never had to replace a CV joint, not even when the boot split and all the grease came out. My car is a track car (+ driving to and from) and is running 440hp.
yeah, quite odd ! I'm thinking of removing the (new) grease, and putting some Redline CV-2 grease in them to see if they hold better. Most Meganes are running higher torque than stock, like yours, and this isn't an issue. Don't know why it is on mine.
