OS Driveshaft Oil Leak - Parts to fix?

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by BEEFTEC, Jul 4, 2016.

  1. While under my car the other day I noticed an oil leak. I hadn't noticed it as the oil doesn't drip on the ground it falls onto the subframe.

Looks like its coming from the OS driveshaft seal where it exits the diff:

Think i've found the seal I need:

But looking at this pic of a new driveshaft, looks like there is a bearing too:

    Will I need a bearing?

I'm hoping I just need the seal linked above and new gearbox oil.

    Thanks

  2. Its just the seal you need, its only the splines that go into the gearbox it doesn't go in that far.

@BEEFTEC if you did want to change the drive shaft support bearing, here's the bearing
