Oil temp readings on track?

Discussion in 'Track Days & Track Driving' started by git-r, Aug 28, 2016.

  1. I have 2011 250 with the RS monitor and was delighted to see the oil temp only rising to about 105 degrees c after sustained hard track use.

Has anyone got any idea how accurate this reading is as it seems very low when comparing to every other car I've used on track??

    Thanks,
    Sam

  2. I don't know, but I have read here that it's fairly accurate, however it's calculated and not an actual sensor.

  3. Thanks for this - that'd be great if it is accurate. It'd make running it on track far less expensive as it'd require a lot less oil changes

  4. I got some useful advice from RStuning about this and the oil temp displayed on the monitor is not accurate! It calculates the reading so if you think it's getting hot it probably is!

Couldn't believe how cool it stays according to the monitor, lol because it wasn't!
