225 Oil pump

  1. Hey there peeps.
    Quick question
My oil warning light along stop on dash came on yesterday. Does this mean there's not enough oil pressure and that I should replace oil pump?

    Someone! Anyone?

  2. I'm guessing that you have actually checked your oil level?!

  3. Yeah I did its fine, I'll have to buy a genuine oil filter and drain check afterwards

  4. Yeah I would drop the oil and change the filter, just be careful you don't starve the turbo if the oil light is coming on

  5. How would I know that or how can I check that the turbo is not starved

  6. Just don't run to much If the lights on, you obviously will need to start it up to test it, just make sure you knock it off as soon as you can and don't give it any revs so the turbo doesn't spool up.
Might be worth changing the oil pressure sensor too.

The oil pump is driven by a chain, if your draining the oil, then dropping the sump isn't a big job then you can see if the chain is still there, changing the oil pressure sensor would be quicker though

  10. Yeah should be on the front of the engine around by the oil filter.

    Part number.
