OEM+ gauge pod creation.

  1. Man this is hard work and still needs a few more hours chucked at it. But it's getting there. So far all the tools to help mould the display have been a heat gun, a deodorant can. And a quarter drive extension. 7750def78ec79f850787b0b775a727a4.jpg 4d8cdc2c7272349d645ad7e1fe8537eb.jpg 0de021d7b0b9bfc574b6009db9f20534.jpg d0008e84c145b14dd10207b509c34ce3.jpg 0236e4fd24856cf5f83f8bab39d94565.jpg bfef9986a0583f2bcf9e7550281b66e6.jpg 3c6c0b538446c2791fd2a50998cecd0d.jpg

If anyone asks me to make them something similar, be warned, I'll be charging a hell of a lot. This is not a Sunday afternoons quick mod...
Will post the filler stages soon as they're done!

  2. First skim of filler done. The contrast in colour really helps see where more fettling is needed. 660b6fa1815f2831fc3862c82727c650.jpg fa563cd8f28cf1bfccf5758129faf8d7.jpg c0b8e50fd167d61e49b181e9759efb91.jpg

  3. Well done for doing a little guide for this, it's on my to do list, so this is a great help

  4. Now that I have the gauge pod butted up to the perfect position, I am attempting to fill the gaps so when it's finish won't look wobbly or that you can see in between etc

What's going to hold the gauge pod to the trim are you going to fibreglass it?

  6. Well I'm not absolutely certain but currently I think it will be 2 screws at the top. (In the domed parts.) and on the sides which are open, will have a covering of some sort with brackets so it will all be sturdy. It's getting there slowly... Although this filler needs to be easier to sand!

  7. Fantastic idea on opening it up to fit the pod inside.[IMG]

  8. Just trying to create a OEM+ look. Not a fan of the universal 3 gauge pod that many people do. Looks too aftermarket to me. Planning on putting a innovate mechanical boost and afr gauge. Should hopefully look well!
