O2 sensor replacement

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Mr Spoon, Jun 18, 2021.

  1. So I've bought a Denso direct fit oxygen sensor. I'm replacing the upper, it looks easy enough, so that tells me there are a few quirks. part number is 8200771294

anyone have any tips for getting a spanner to the o2 sensor? Do you take the heat shield off?

Don't over think this, remove the turbo shield, try a spanner on it, if that doesn't work try again when hot

  3. Ok will do.

  4. O2 sensor should be here this week, I've bought a tool designed for it also .... Might come in handy....
Will let you know how it goes

  5. The tool is just a socket with a cut out for the wiring. Works fine. Most 02 sensors come pre lubed these days with anti seize grease, make sure yours has it before you fit it as it will help fitting and removal in the future. But as above, easy 15 minute job really. You'll be fine.
