After a month or so of going round in circles with 3 renault dealers i still could not a rs275 below 30.000k with ohlins and turin wheels, cheapest was 30.250k. So went test driving, drove a S3 and a 280 Leon, both with dsg boxes, hard to tell the drive apart if im honest. So it looks like what with the deals Seat are doing i,m off to order a 3door Leon in red , manual, leather, and black line + mats.
Never drove a rs275 steve as i already have a rs250 cup didnt think it would be a great deal of difference mate. Got the car for 26.200k.
They are ridiculously pricey but I'm actually liking the exclusivity of modern Renault Sport ownership at present. The Leon to me, like all VAG vehicles, is just way too "meh" and "yawn". Not slagging them off completely as they're well spec'd and look well. They just don't wet my tip like the Renaults do. As long as you're happy though that's all that really matters.
Wouldn't have bothered switching from a 250 to a 275 to be honest. Set of decent coil overs and an exhaust/remap your practically there minus the silly decals. If you fancied a German hatch surely you considered the 7R?
Never liked the focus really so never even considered it. I do agree with with you Mick about Renault rs range being exciusive and have loved owning the last 2 ive had, but could not justify paying that sort of money. Ben 7r, you lost me mate.

Plus for the spec i wanted both Audi and Vw wanted over 33.000k. If i was going to spend that amount on a car i would have got the rs275 trophy in the first place.
I read the seat is a good car just not up there with the megane in driver involvement, plus i think it looks bland as hell. either way, enjoy if you go ahead with it, i personally think your 250 with sorted suspension and a map would be a better drivers car!
Exactly their absolutely boring to look at, apart from the R badge you wouldn't know it was a R if you went past it.
My Megane is mapped to 280 and has been for 20.000k Matty, i never keep a car for longer then 3 years mate so had no thoughts about starting to mod the car.
I agree the Seat dont have the looks and style of the Megane, but out of the 3 vag cars i think it looks the best.
Should try drive the deal if your after new. Not sure what spec Golf R you would be after but I would guess you could get it for a bit less than 33k as a standard 3 door golf R can be had for £26195. The also do deals on Seats too which could be worth a look. http://www.drivethedeal.com/
You should get exactly the same 0% if you go through drive the deal too. As its goes through to a Seat dealer anyway.
No what your saying mate, but not my sort of car always had fwd hot hatches as far back as the first mk2 golf gti.
Hi there I think you missed a trick; I placed my order for an rs275 last week and got them down to below £27k. Admittedly I didn't have the ohlins but did have the Turinis ... but even at full price, that would bring it too £29k and under your £30k I would say you really want it but are thinking of going to the VW R / Leon 280 route and see what they say. I suspect they will bit your hand off. Tj
I tried that game to with them but no luck. I had already brought my 197 clio cup and the rs250 cup off the same salesman at the same dealer and it didnt cut no ice with them. My minds made up now and i sign for the leon tomorrow.
So a update, armed with the quote from Seat on paper i head off to the Renault dealer i got my last two rensports from, showed them deal in hope of getting the rs275 trophy down, no luck, so i went back to Seat and signed up, new 280, 3door Leon in red with full leather, black line pack and full mat set, delivery around 20th of December. Time to start selling me rs 250 cup soon me thinks. Il miss the whole rensport thing, last six years have been fun.
I drove an RS3 a few weeks back and it was lovely to drive but left me a bit cold compared to the Renaultsport range. Like previously said I like the exclusivity of the Renaultsport range.
Good luck with Seat. I am surprised that Renault wouldn't retain so loyal customer. Do they care about it? Weird attitude.
