Hello all, Just noticed another type of noise somewhere near the engine during idling.. Hard to describe..More like a 'pop' or clunking noise that comes out irregularly when the engine is hot or after a long journey.. Or maybe sounds like explosions? Haha I cant really describe in English.. Put my ear near the timing area and i was pretty sure it's not from there. I tried to record but it was not really noticeable in the video.. Have u guys noticed something similar? What does your engine sound like at idle after a long run?
I wrote about it some time ago. I have a tapping noise for a while when engine is off after longer trip.
If it were the injectors, is it normal? I checked it once again and I think it is more like a metallic tapping noise that is distinguished from normal tapping engine noise. It comes once in a while and it does that at the same time with the exhaust 'coughing' like Sunnylunn mentioned.
Dinn, there is some sort of electric pump that carrys on pumping water round the turbo after switching the ignition off so ive heard. Supposely yeh it normal for injectors to make clicking noises.
