R26 No throttle

  1. Another fault on the Megane due to water?

Drove the car today for the first time in two weeks due to working abroad. Car started fine and I drove 18 miles no problem. Drove back home shortly after and stopped at the shop, again, fine.

When I started the car again I had no throttle at all. The pedal felt the same but the car wouldn't rev at all, just creep along on tick over in 1st. I stopped and started the engine a couple of times and eventually the problem stopped.

I'm guessing this will be some sort of electrical connection fault but does anybody have an idea where I might look? Anybody else had this?

  2. Has this happened again, did you get a solution?

It happened to me this morning. Car was fine on Tuesday, but not throttle this morning. I did get it working after several attempts, but not knowing if I could trust it, I've then left it at home.

    K Rgds,

    Nigel

  3. Hi Nigel. Eventually this threw up an error message relating to 'weak throttle return spring'. Ultimately I had to replace the whole throttle body (or the Birchdown guys did).

Not had a single issue with this since.

Have you had any error lights on the dash? If so the car should have stored a fault code that you can get read somewhere that may tell you more.
