Another fault on the Megane due to water? Drove the car today for the first time in two weeks due to working abroad. Car started fine and I drove 18 miles no problem. Drove back home shortly after and stopped at the shop, again, fine. When I started the car again I had no throttle at all. The pedal felt the same but the car wouldn't rev at all, just creep along on tick over in 1st. I stopped and started the engine a couple of times and eventually the problem stopped. I'm guessing this will be some sort of electrical connection fault but does anybody have an idea where I might look? Anybody else had this?
Has this happened again, did you get a solution? It happened to me this morning. Car was fine on Tuesday, but not throttle this morning. I did get it working after several attempts, but not knowing if I could trust it, I've then left it at home. K Rgds, Nigel
Hi Nigel. Eventually this threw up an error message relating to 'weak throttle return spring'. Ultimately I had to replace the whole throttle body (or the Birchdown guys did). Not had a single issue with this since. Have you had any error lights on the dash? If so the car should have stored a fault code that you can get read somewhere that may tell you more.
