Been reviewing PH, Autotrader and Reno sites over the last week or so. There is nothing for sale in Central Scotland which is strange. I'm on nights offshore, getting home later in the week when I'll call round the dealers and see what they have if anything. I just thought that they would be advertised. I'm currently chatting to reno in Brum about an RS265 they have...just a hike to go and see it from West Lothian.
If it's the car your after and has the spec your after then why not go for it, I'm sure you will have a blast on the way home
Thats what I done with my last one. Bought over the phone and drove down to Lookers to get it. I'll see what happens when i get home.
I'm in the same boat, up in Newcastle upon Tyne and there are none for sale locally. I've never even driven an R26 (though I think i'll love it) but by trying to be sensible feel like I need a test drive before committing to buying one. Driving down to Wales or Somerset is extreme for a test drive... Good luck with the car hunt. p.s. this is my first post, hi all :-)
Me too! I never drove one and just put a deposit on it over the phone. I went down to Bristol from Manchester on the train and brought it straight back !
Speaking to Brum Reno by email at the moment and got a vid clip of the car sent out to me. All going well with a price for the M3 I should be getting it sorted over the next couple of days. :cool: Then start looking for some tracktime at Knockers :cool:
I'm travelling all the way down to Brighton from Nottingham on Friday to collect mine. Distance doesn't bother me. Looking forward to the drive home!
You guys have it easy. I'm going to pick up my 265 next Thursday at the other end of Sweden. 11 hours by train and then a 9 hour drive home! Atleast I'll be able to get used to it!
I flew down to Wales to buy my car, but apparently I broke the cardinal rule of buying cars, in that I bought it from Wales, who knew haha!
My last 3 cars, rcz, st and rs265 I got the dealers to bring to me to see agreeing I refused it if I didnt like it. All used cars. Why mess about travelling, let them do the work,sod that. The st was 125 miles away.
I went to London from york for my r26. No dealers had them when I looked so could not get one locally and went private
