Ok, we all have our personal opinions on tyre choice, but is there a general consensus on the best/better tyres for the R26? My new to me F1 R26 will need some new rubber before long so what do you guys think. Has anyone tried and can report back on the new-ish Michelin PS4’s
Very good Tyre at a good price even in wet, would highly recommend. From what i see in other threads it seems to be the one for every day driving including spirited drives, unless you do a lot of trackdays
I have a set of Michelin ps4 on my R26 and find them very good. The 2 fronts will be replaced with the same again in the next few weeks. They are well regarded tyres and came top of the most recent EVO tyre test. National Tyres appear to be the cheapest place to get them supplied and fitted at £123 a corner, unless anyone knows of any cheaper? https://www.national.co.uk/tyres-search?Width=235&Profile=40&Diameter=18&Rating=&LoadIndex=
Thanks, that’s what I had heard across a broad spectrum of petrolhead forums. No, not really into track days (as yet......) I would describe my main driving as “spirited road driving”
Seems like an easy option and you can get tyre insurance from them too. It’s amazing how easy it is to pick up a screw in you tyre at 3.5mm within an inch from the edge come the time!
Try getting a price from your local Costco. When I had mine fitted, they were by far the cheapest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had a set of PS4's fitted a few months back and I think they/re outstanding. Great grip and handling for fast road use but also smooth and quiet for when you're just cruising along.
