Morning guys, I was sent the link to this site from a chap on Pistonheads, seems a good forum from what I've seen so far :-) I picked up a standard (or so I thought) 07 plate 225 lux 5 door a few weeks back, in black with grey wheels and red Brembo's with 65k on the clock. Unfortunately within days of getting it I knew it wasn't right, with poor running eventually causing the engine light to come on, after some research I consoled myself it was probably just bad injectors, so bought some new ones and decided to book it in with Engine Dynamics for one of their stage 1a upgrades at the same time... However once Engine Dynamics started working through the car they found various signs of previous mods, sleeved exhaust, modded airbox, signs the cat had been removed etc, they also then pulled the map off the car to find rather than standard it had a mickey mouse remap, the news only got worse from here, with the eventual diagnosis of low compression on the two inner cylinders. In the end the engine was stripped down and fitted with new big ends, piston rings, cylinder head refurb, cambelt etc etc and with the 1a upgrade made just shy of 260bhp and 283lb/ft. A nightmare start to be honest, but Engine Dynamics did a top job and at least the car now runs spot on and drives very well, the map is really progressive and now pulls really well across the entire rev range which is just what I wanted. So at the minute the spec is as follows; Eibach Springs ED 1A upgrade, map, panel filter, scorpion cat back Ktec engine mount set ED shortshift I've got the usual dash rattles to chase and a few other bits but at least I now have a good basis to work from! bloody hell sounds like a nightmare start. I had a bad start with mine and I am sure there are big bills waiting for me but I do lobe the car
