Going to treat myself to some new tyres. Got a standby wage coming up from work:rolleyes: I have 4 Dunlop Sport Maxx RTs on atm. I feel they are alright but nothing too special. Can get full set of 235 ps2 for £444 or 225 PSS for £434 (delivered) A little dubious about going down to 225s having the cup pack?
If your after something cheaper but just as good, I'd give federal RSR's a go their seriously good and make my old ps3's seem crap imo and it only cost me £342 in 235s
They aren't really a general use road tyre though are they? More a semi-slick. Without meaning to sound like a broken record and if you aren't too fussed about having one of the 'big' names these are great tyres: http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s322...Eff_:_E_Wet_Grip:_B_NoiseClass:_2_Noise:_70dB Currently on my 3rd pair having just put a full set on, they impressed me when I when on a track day at Cadwell as it showed up how bad the PS3s were it came with and the Pirelli's a previous owner had put on the back. Plenty of people have put 225s on though, I think I remember Jamie was running 225 PSS's? Could be wrong.
I run 245/40/18 (the 97Y XL) PSS and think they are fantastic. I used to have 235 PS2s and much prefer the PSS, i've had no issues at 245 size either.
I've heard about the vredstein ones being very good for the price. I have the money there I'd quite like to try my first set of mitchelin's though Are you sacrificing anything going down to 225s? Is there not some nonsense with insurance and sizes aswell? I've always just stuck with the recommended size for the car haha. Boring like that.
They are indeed a semi slick so obviously you won't get as much miles out of them then the general road tires, but they sure make up for it by having loads of grip even when 'cold'
Any time i have ran RS-R's they have lasted quite a long time, Like 15k. They don't have loads of grip when you compare them to the likes of the top road tyres though. PSS' are very, very similar but much better in the wet and useable on the road, In UK conditions.
i am def a fan of rsr's, they are a good all round tyre, yes they look more track focused but i have used on the road and in anger on a track and performs really well in wet and dry
Anybody tried these? http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres/bridgestone/potenza-adrenalin-re002/225-40-r18-92w-72437 Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
