  4. Anyone know the spec yet?

    I'd love one

  5. Not sure on the specs but Auto Express reporting prices starting at £48k and limited to a few hundred units.

They've really taken this Trophy R to a new level entirely. Carbon fibre wheels, carbon ceramic brakes. Lots of specialist parts on this one. Love it.

  6. 48 grand? ha. Does look good car though. What was previous FWD record time? Honda Civic type R that you couldn't actually buy? If so good to see the FWD record back where it belongs.

  7. Fake Honda was the last record at 7:43. The Golf Clubsport thing which was actually a production car was a 7:47.

  8. Nice, 7:40 good bench mark then. That Golf clubsport thing with the half cage in the back only VW that I’ve even remotely liked.

  9. So, what do we know of the spec so far?
    Carbon Revolution wheels ($$$$)
    Brembo braked
    Bridgestone tyres ( I’m betting Re71r)
    Akrapovic zorst
    Ohlins suspension
    Sabelt seats
    ?
    ?
And what does this mean: (from translation of media release)
“MÉGANE RS TROPHY-R sets a new record of 07'40''100 on the Nordschleife 20,600 km course (07'45''389 on the official 20.832 km complete lap)”

Is Renault highlighting the B2G time, not the full lap time??!!

  10. As explained to me:
“On timed laps you’ll notice they start timing just before the first corner leading onto the old course and stop timing just after the last corner. The small straight that links the old and new tracks (T13 section) is more or less in line with the old pit area. Still not sure why they don’t time the full lap but it seems chopping off that 200m is the accepted practice by everyone.”

  11. I'm thinking/ hoping that it will be cheaper than £48k. probably be a base spec and add on the wheels and CC BBK. This pic shows the optional (not uk) fuji wheels and what looks like std RS brakes, the bi metal jobs from the trophy. image_5616.jpg
