  1. Hi everyone, I am new to this forum but not to the forum scene and the help people can bring.

I am the new owner of a Megane 225 04 in ice blue (I think the Colour is called) also own a Clio williams 3 and am on the Clio forums. I am looking forward to finding out about a few niggles I have and if anyone can help.

    Thanks in advance
    Steve

  2. Welcome along mate, I'm sure you will get all the help you need, some very helpful and knowledgeable people on here!
And I may as well say it before someone else does.........get some pics up!

  3. Wttc.

    What are the niggles?

  4. How doo fella.
As above what problems are you having?

  5. Hey guys will get some pics as soon as I can can't believe I haven't took any usually first thing I do clean and snap away.

The ASR/ESP light comes on sometimes after traveling a few metres along with service but doesn't appear all the time?

The lcd display that displays the sat/nav and radio info also sometimes only half works.

No sat/nav cd can you get new ones.

Steering veers left and the steering wheel position for straight is out of position and need to hold it slighty to one side to go straight.

One fog light glass smashed ive posted else where is this a easy fix? Parts guide?

Think that's about it for the minute. Must say really happy overall with car very comfy, quick and not to bad on fuel really.

  7. Hey Steve,

Is it the carminat satnav? I'm sure I've seen some discs on ebay

With the steering does it self centre after turning/ feel heavy? As it may be the hub bearings quite a common fault, although it sounds more like a simple tracking issue to me.

With the ASR/ESP fault, i'd try and read the codes with an obd reader tbh mate, as your just guessing really, it could be abs sensors/ magnetic pick up on the discs/ steering angle sensor etc etc.

For the fog light most people just replace them, i think there the same fitment, but not 100% sure, I'm sure someone else will chime in weather they are or not.

I've heard of the display getting a bit funny on a hot day then slowly dieing but not sure if there's a fix, I've only heard of people replacing it, although you could check the earthing to the dash

  8. Yes it is the carminat satnav do you know will any cd from the manufactures work or is it specifically coded to a certain cd?

The steering doesn't self centre and isn't heavy no.

I guess to read the faults is a garage job?

Ive messages Ads about fog light.

Display I think is just old and needs replacing. So will look out for new one.

    Thanks for help already!

    Steve

  9. Welcome

  10. Welcome to the forum mate, exactly the same as mine lol

  11. Welcome along.

  12. Welcome mate.

Yours is the same colour as mine.

I've been having issues since buying mine too. Slowly getting there though.

  13. Big welcome amigo

  14. Cheers guys. Really like the guy get a lot of looks and likes.

  15. Tbh Steve I'd invest in a cheap obd reader or the torque app and a elm 327 Bluetooth reader. Both options are probably cheaper than getting it read by a garage and you will have the equipment for any future use

  16. Any recommended ones links to where to purchase? Thanks

  17. I got mine off of ebay (elm 327 reader) and the torque app you get off the play store. I also got a cheap obd reader off ebay a while back.
TBh there all much of a muchness i normally just go for the cheapest!

If your an apple man i think its Dash command for the app but unsure on the reader as its not bluetooth for apple it has to be wireless IIRC.

I'd recommend the torque app/ reader over just a obd reader though, as you can data log, set up shift lights, it can measure your 0-60 times, have extra guages on your screen etc etc

  18. I am a apple man so I need a different reader do I?

  19. Yeah afraid so, i think the app is dash command, the reader is still an elm 327 but its wi fi rather than bluetooth interface and like with anything apple there 3X the price of any android stuff! https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=a...UaCmhJgK#q=apple+wireless+obd+reader&tbm=shop
I'm not 100% sure what the dashcommand app is like/ what features it has, but i'm sure someone else will pipe in with their experience.

  20. Imo dash command was better than torque. U had pre loaded options aswell as the guages. Such as shift pattern fuel fill ups how much you have used. Etc. But its $9.99 dunno wat that is in pounds never bought it

  21. £7.99 on App Store still that plus the reader will be cheaper than 1 hour labour. So result.
