New RS 250 Owner

  1. Hi All,

A month or so ago I bought (partly on a whim!) a 2010 Megane 250. Its pretty standard, not the cup chassis, and black.

I'll put some more photos up once I get some take, if the weather improves

Also - am based in Liverpool/Manchester, so maybe see some of you around!

Any tips on anything to upgrade straight off the bat??

  2. Welcome! Your RS looks good in black, and being standard has it's benefits. Got any ideas what you want to upgrade?
Personally I'd keep it pretty standard except lowering and a tuning chip.

  3. Thanks - I was looking at getting a Stage 1 remap done, is that what you would recommend? Hadn't actually thought of lowering it either - will have a look. Otherwise not much I really want doing to it I guess...! It's already been Megane de-badged

  4. Looks good! Best colour!

It already looks quite low, are you sure it hasn't already been lowered ?

  5. Your camera?

Only joking - welcome along mate.

Better front pads to improve the brakes possibly?

  6. :tongueout:

It was from my phone camera about 10 minutes after buying it. Had to go get myself a strong coffee to calm myself down....

Excellent thanks! I'll check if it's been lowered - as for brake pads, any recommended? I'll have a search through the forum, there seems to be a wealth of knowledge/advice.

  7. I had the mid box chopped on mine, the car now sounds much better.

  8. Mines a non cup, i've had the mid box chop and a remap, makes a world of difference.

I purposely bought a non cup for the better ride quality.

Looks really nice in black, only problem with these wheels is the £130 per corner tyre.

    Where bouts are you.

  9. Exactly! I remember blasting the full tank empty after buying it.

Anyone perhaps more info about the midbox chop? It's something I'd like to do as well but what if it's too loud or too deep a sound while doing 80 km/h or 100 / 120 and such on the highway.

And now more photos please

  10. Same about the ride quality, I'm unlikely to take it on the track ever/often, so prefer the comfort side! Yeh the tyres do seem to add up a lot - what are people's preferences - there seems to be some love for the Mich PSS on here?

Mid box chop sounds interesting, I'll have a look into it, and definitely the remap.

I'm based in Liverpool at the moment!

  11. Mid-box chop is one of the best things I have done, it's almost imperceptible in normal driving, but sounds a little louder when pushing on, and in ESP sport mode you get a lot more pops/bangs. For the sake of £50-£100 to get it done it is well worth it, doesn't drone at all.

  12. Excellent! What sort of garage would be recommended for this? Still trying to scope out the best places near me...

  13. Exactly as above, normal driving including motorway i almost noticed no change in the sound level after the box change, it's just a bit more when pressing the right peddle.

Personally I find mine rarely pop's though even with the remap.

If your south west i can recommend a place to get it done and they have a mapping place next door. Box was done for £50 and the remap £250.
