afternoon all I'll be collecting my "new" R26.R on Sunday...formerly of this parish glacier white RO09 UDY I've had all sorts of track focused cars including a Lotus 340R, a caterham 7 and most recently a 996 GT3 I also had a Clio Cup but never tracked it I could have bought all sorts of things but fwiw I think the R26.R is criminally undervalued relative to its rarity & its ability so my plan is depreciation proof fun some minor changes being wrought this week... wheels from red to black and new front discs and pads and then i'm looking to forward to taking it on track
My old car :cool: you have got yourself a lovely example there, one of the best R out there, enjoy it mate. might see you on a trackday some time this year.
most likely Goodwood, Silverstone or Brands Hatch (if I see any GP days) what noise test does it pass? static dB ?? cheers any other info worth having please email me squirdan@googlemail.com it will be in safe hands !
I'm doing Brands GP (sessions tho) on 29th July, got Oulton next Tuesday and Anglesey August 19th : ) 94db if i remember correctly, it'll pass any static and drive by noise test, no problem. a lot of us run DS 1.11 pads on the Megane , great bite, no fade and hardly any dust. The AD08R are a great road/track tyre, grip well and last really well, great for the money. Other than that, its had pretty much all the links and bushes renewed with polyflex. Its got fresh Castrol react brake fluid in as well, expensive but worth it, its also got Titan pro race s oil if you ever need to top up, it doesn't seem to use any oil tho. thanks guys. Festival of Speed saturday, R26R sunday...should be a good weekend can you get new red belts from Sabelt ? just thinking about them being "in date" for certain events. I know Schroth do red ones..

Bedford booked for 1st August. And then probably goodwood on 15th August. Looking forward to it i know it's anathema but I have fitted a plain white bonnet partly to keep the original cf one tucked away, partly I prefer the look med term plan is a white wrapped cf one
Quick update.. Had a great track outing at Bedford, getting a feel for the car it was mega and as I had hoped pretty quick but also fun like all these it's ability to "cock a leg" was q amusing had a dice for a few laps with a Clio cup car on slicks the only negative for me was brake fade... Not terminal but enough to knock confidence.. That's being fixed with a 348mm front upgrade goodwood Saturday afternoon- a track I know v well so should be a good outing
