New plates?

  1. Hi all. Can someone suggest the best place to go to for some new number plates for my 265? I want them to be able to pass an MOT and not get pulled by the BIB. But i think some have a smaller front plate? Not sure if this is legal though? Also are plates meant to have manufacturer codes on them? Any help would be great. Thanks

  2. U think a lot of people use fanceyplates, I would stick to oem size ect, but it depends how fussy your mot bloke is, my clio would have failed on the slim plate and now car garage address along the bottom ect

  3. Yeah fancyplates will do legal plates without needing to see the v5 like UK based ones are supposed to do.

They will also do whatever size you want, which may be a problem at MOT time. I had a 3/4 front plate on a Clio for a few years and it never failed for it though...

  4. Thanks for that. I will have a look. Ive seen some Meganes with slightly smaller front plates. I will try and see if i can find the size that they have used.

I've never had a LM issue with my front plate. It's flush with bumper. I do need a fresh rear plate though so any suggestion is welcome. I'll just hit up fancyplates if not.
