New member, after a Megane 250 within the next couple of months

  1. Evening folks,

I've been browsing this forum for a while now looking at various bits and bobs. I will be in the market for a Megane RS250 Cup hopefully within the next 6-8 weeks, looking forward to being in the market for one

Little question, roughly what is the generally regarded maximum 'safe' power/torque from the stock engine internals please? I would be looking to go with a map, decat and possibly intercooler as that seems to be a common theme in 'stage 1' engine mods. I presume they're generally pretty reliable at this state of tune? And power/torque at this level around 300/350ish about right?

    Thanks, Steve

  2. Anyone?

  3. Dont think theres anyone thats tuned the engine until destruction, but there is folk running various hybrids etc running in the 350bhp area, ive heard 380bhp is the most the standard engine can take.

  4. I think they can run 380-400 on standard internals. There's a guy on meganesport running a hybrid turbo with 380 something and he's on standard internals and clutch I believe. These engines are pretty strong. My mate has an airtec intercooler and decat and saw 312bhp with a stage 2 map just to give you a rough idea
