Thats the trouble with car salesmen - full of bullshite. Auto? It's not a Jag or top spec Merc. Renault screwed up with the Clio 200T, too expensive, bum Auto only and thought it would sell as a more premium product. Ford then cleaned up with the Fiesta ST and gave buyers what they wanted. If Renault try it again with the next Megane and think they can compete with Audi, BMW etc they will fail. Keep it cheap, fast, great handling and the enthusiasts choice.
100% agree. I even think the Trophy/R was way too expensive... Shame they then have big discounts on the Cup-S The new one needs to be sub 30k fully loaded to be worth it I think or it will just push people to the German badges. Only few people take much interest in what they actually drive like
In all fairness, the Megane is now a generation behind the other hatches. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic drive, but the interior is showing it's age and the Cup-S is really there to sell off the rest of the parts they have left. I would have thought 30k will be the target for the next Megane (keep in mind it's a year or so off) . I'd rather a higher starter price than having to add all the options on (think more Trophy than Cup-S).
