Feeling like I did when I was a kid at Xmas. Pick up my new car tomorrow. Should have been Yesterday but circumstances meant I could not travel, but all good to go tomorrow. Flight from Edinburgh to Cardiff at lunchtime, jaunt over to dealer and then homeward bound in the RS....happy days
Happy days mate! Leeds on the way back? haha Jokes aside A701 on the way back off the M74? great wide speeping road to enjoy the new chassis - big fan of that road
Congrats mate - nice choice. Get some pics up when you're back home. Detour to WSR at Silverstone on way back?
No detours this time. Straight home. Looking forward to the blast from Abington to forth. Cracking road if there is no traffic although plenty of overtake places.
At airport waiting to go. Forgot how much I hate airports and the ignorance of some folks. Lucky I'm in a happy mood this morning.
you getting it from Cardiff Renault? They have had a yellow Trophy R in the showroom for a few months - does my head in every time I go in there! How come you have travelled all that way for it?
Never knew that. Need to have a nosey at it. May have seriously considered it if I had known. Just landed and heading to dealer. Hopefully back on way home within the hour. Got a box of corona in the chiller waiting on me.
Car is stunning. Pit stop at charnock Richard. Car park pic to follow once I've demolished a steak and jalapeño subway.
That's the plan mate, the main reason for buying it, to get track time in  Just in the door after 390miles home. 360 of those on the various M'ways in 6th at a speed making progress with CC on, the last 30 miles a cross country blast to remember what a Meg RS is all about.....christ have I bought the right car....you better believe it. The M3 NEVER put a smile on my face like I have right now. Also 390 miles on one tank of fuel , albeit the light was on and well into the red, but 390 !!! I'll take that. Time for Coronas and chilling...
Looks great! I think that's probably the one I saw sitting outside when I got my 250 serviced last week. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. My 250 still gives me a kick when I drive it and I've had it 5 years.
Well two tanks of fuel in from taking ownership and I know I made the right choice. Settling in nicely and getting comfortable in the handling and performance around my favourite back roads. Only a couple of niggles that annoy me. Recaros could have done with the additional leg supports that others have as I miss the extendable section. The seat sits slightly higher than my old 250 did, or it seems it does. Folding mirrors. Wish I had them. My old 250 I could just pull the handle to open, but now I have to push the button?!? I thought the sensor behind the door should unlock when I seen your hand.
No the sensor's not there anymore. I preferred the old system too but it's no biggy. I'm only a short arse so the seats are fine for me. I never used the extending base in the R26 I had either. The mirrors were one thing I made sure to get. I park in a shared car park were people walk between the cars so it was important to me. Have you asked the dealer if they can be retro-fitted? I bet the wiring is all there, just needs the switch unit and the motor. The black and white theme looks fantastic in the above pics by the way - really nice. Do you want to swap it for a oyster grey one?
Grey was a colour I fancied but I'm a nightmare for swirls and spider webs on paint and a dark colour would drive me mad.
Car has sat in my garage for three weeks now and not turned a wheel. It'll not turn one for about another four weeks....frustrated is an understatement...gagging to go for a blast
A knee rebuild mate. Bloody torture at the moment. It's the rehab time after I manage to get rid of the crutches. Although saving on fuel and coronas at the moment so need to hammer both when I'm fit lol.
