New 265 cup s owner

  1. Not new to the forum but now the owner of a 265 and my dci 175. Picked it up on Tuesday from Renault Bolton.
2013 265 Cup s, only covered just under 8k. Pretty much poverty spec except for the Red pack and upgraded sound system from the factory.

Ive know for a while i was going for a 250 or 265 so ive been gathering aftermarket parts bit by bit. Upto now ive got
    Airtec intercooler
Full 3 inch cobra exhaust from turbo back (sports cat)
bmc panel filter or the itg maxogen carbon sytem off my dci
superchips bluefin (unsure if il use this)

Happy with the car but it needs a good tidy up. Its been stood around for a while so the rear brakes need attention and i'll change the front pads while im at it.

I'll get a project thread going within the next couple of weeks and get these parts fitted and put it on the rollers.

Hers a couple of pics. Sorry for the poor quality

  2. Hi mate, very nice, they look good together!

  3. Nice, the red pack only looks good on the black imo. And it's just a 265 cup it's the 275 that is a cup S.

  4. Sorry mike just going off the log book

  5. It will be a cup s/s which just means it has stop/start. What month was it registered because mine is also a 2013 cup s/s and there was only a few registered in 2013.

And I wasn't having a dig just trying to help

  6. I was just going to say stop start. Even though it's been removed. It was registered in August missed out on being a 63 reg by a week.

  7. It's been removed? Ah cool mine is a November 13 so 63, one of the last pre facelift ones. How do you find it compared to the DCI?

  8. I know they have a switch to turn it off but it's been removed by Renault completely by request of the previous owner it says in the service history.

Totally different to the dci. As a day to day a to b car the dci is quicker in gear. Put your foot down and bang ive instantly got 380ftlbs. You can tell the 265 is way down on torque. definitely wouldn't pull away from the dci from 20-100mph.
handling wise the 265 is stiffer and steering is lighter. The dci gives a more solid feel front end due to the extra weight. The 265 feels lighter and when pushing on I'd be more confident driving on the limit
As it stands the brembos on the dci feel much sharper. But like I said the 265 needs new pads I think.

Biggest difference to me is the sound. It's addictive putting your foot down it sounds great. (totally different to the 250s I tested). On the move the dci is silent, very refined and tbh a bit characterless compared to the 265.

Mixed driving I'm getting 38mpg in the 265 and 43mpg in the derv also the same tax band.

  9. Bizarre why it's been removed because the stop start means it's a lower tax band than the 250. Think you got the best of both worlds with the pair of them, a fun economy mile muncher and the weekend hooligan.

  10. 38mpg......Jesus that's good!

  11. Ye I couldn't believe it just shows you how far the 2l turbo petrols have come. Unfortunately il be selling the dci shortly it never gets used during the week I only do around 4-5k a year.
