New 250 Daily Driver

  1. Evening;

New to the Renaultsport world, however I have had a fair few friends with RS200's, 1*2's etc.

Seen below is my new RS250, FF with Cup pack, 19's and most importantly, leather Recaros. Bought it to replace the 1.4HDi Peugeot 208 that my company had lumped me with, the 60+ mile daily commute is made much more pleasant by the sheer occasion of the RS. The fuel costs (whilst I understood before I went ahead) are genuinely hilarious, but than again, you can't put a price on the feeling it gives you.

Pictured also is my other car, a 2001 JDM MRS which will now be going into the garage for what will probably be a very long re-build, as the previous owner had an engine swap done but the workmanship left a lot to be desired.

  2. Welcome along mate!!! - great choice

and you're totally right, you can't put a price on how the car makes you feel, even if its only for 30 seconds on a 60 mile commute!

  3. Very nice mate. Is it really that thirsty as they allegedly return 30mpg?? Everyone was groaning about the Clio fuel economy before I bought one, and even driving it hard regularly it only hits 28mpg at worst. It's fine! Always get 300 miles from a tank and I enjoy it every time I get into t

  4. Ive only ever seen more than 30mpg on a motorway trip. I use mine as a daily and if I use momentum I will get an average of 26mpg to a tank and about 28mpg if I use shell.

  5. I have to agree with the above. I've only seen 30mpg on a long motorway trip.

  6. My average which isn't reset very often and I only really drive to work and back each day through town outside busy hours gets about 30-31mpg normally.

    With Map

although I'm not a remotely aggressive driver.

  7. Welcome along mate. You'll love the car!

You're spot on, you don't buy a car like this to worry about fuel economy! I average 24-25mpg in mine as a daily city driver but I couldn't care less about that knowing the enjoyment the car gives me at other times. Having said that I managed to average about 40 on the way up the A9 recently, with it peaking at 45mpg (that was after a remap though).

  8. So it's a bit thirstier than the Clio then by the sounds of it. You boys should try having vtec then see how long your petrol lasts lol! I used to go through it quickly in my Honda EP3, however, it was so fun to drive it hard I didn't worry too much. What does it cost to fill the tank in a smegane? It's around £60 from the red in a Clio 200 and is normally see over or just about 300 miles from a tank.

Welcome to the club by the way mate you will love the new motor:smile:

  9. Welcome lovely car I have managed 40mpg in my R26 ! Very impressed by that ! The worst is mid 20s
done 415 miles on a full tank which I was very happy about ! My Audi usually only manages 250 miles a tank but can be a lot less if gunning it ! 7mpg on track

  10. nice enjoy

  11. I have a 2ZZ swapped MR-S that has a 9.5k rev limiter so I'm used to the high revving motors! I'm averaging about 25-6 with mostly motorway miles with some fun in there as well. It's fine as far as I'm concerned!

  12. Hi,

This is my old car which I (sadly) had to sell due to moving to Germany. Noticed you took off the Black vinyl roof. I miss this car so much!

Hope you are looking after her!
