Just had the "money-sapper" fail its MOT with both front springs snapped...

Renault want £106+VAT per spring and then lord knows how much labour...

I've spent hours reading here and elsewhere and there seem to be three main contenders for non-OE springs:

    1. Eibach Pro-Kit
    2. Cooksport
    3. H&R

I see these are all lowering springs but, although I'd ideally like a like-for-like replacement, if I'm going to get better handling then I might as well pass the MOT and benefit from better handling all in one go?

I've read, however, that lowering will have long-term impact on other components... shocks, CV etc.? I've not got endless pockets and would like to stay stock so if fitting just the springs will do then please let me know...

Now, down to my main questions:

    1. Would the Eibachs be a worthwhile investment?

    2. Or; I've seen on Demon-Tweeks some H&R just font springs... are these the same height as OE and would anyone recommend them?

    3. Is there anyone in/around Kidderminster who, for a few quid and beer, can fit/help fit ASAP? I've almost zero tools for the job...

    Thaaaaank youuu!

  2. My folks live on Spennels but I'm now in Glasgow. I've done my summer leave visit and won't be down for a long while.

I work on their cars when needed but when I can't I recommend Dom Mooney at the classic car centre on the A449 going towards Worcester.

He did some core plugs years ago on my TVR. PITA job and he was not only the cheapest but most personable about the job and did a thorough job.

As for springs. I've got Eibach Pro line on mine. They are in my opinion much better than standard sport (can't compare to the Cup Eibach). I also put new cup dampers on.

Actually did my fronts this week.
