  1. As above not wanting the best just for wheel bolts really, so don't want to spend a fortune

  2. Anyone recommend one please

  3. Halfords have a good range

  4. I'd like a digital one but their daft money

  5. Tbh I would look at this - Halfords Professional Torque Wrench 40-200Nm
    Cat code: 200139

If it's only for wheels then it would be fine, digital are hundreds I am looking at snap-on....deep breath

Yup, it's very cheap. Probably not all that accurate either. But I only use it for wheel bolts and providing it's even within 10% it's good enough, not had a wheel come lose yet and used it many many times on both the meg and clio.

  7. steve if you can wait til next week I may be able to get you one from work, I cant promise nothing, but we have tools that slightly go out of cal for aircraft use and cant be used no more but are fine for everything else, if you can wait I will ask the guys ok amigo

  8. Yes mate that would be brilliant I'm in no rush at all , cheers

  9. I will know by tues at the latest, like I said I cant promise as they get put away as quarantined , but if I can get one when its in the failed and not fixed box then bingo

  10. Mint don't got to any trouble though or get into any trouble either, but make sure it a good one lol

I have a Teng one, Cost me 50 quid and gets used mainly for wheel bolts. Spot on for the price and recommend them to anyone who is after a cheap but decent one

  13. I got a draper one.. It came with a calibration cert and cost me about 20 quid new.. Used it for my wheels a few times and does the job... but it midnight can sort you one worth the wait.

  14. steve ive pm'd you my mobie mate can you gimme a ring asap )

  15. All sorted mate , sent you a text with a link to have a gander at make n model, if ya happy ring or text , happy days

  16. Last year I bought a torque wrench from Carolus for wheel the wheels. If my memory is correct the brand is in some way related to Gedore.

  17. I'm using a HAZET 5122-1 CT and been very pleased with it. bought from ebay.

  18. Whats the torque settings for the wheels Btw?

  19. I asked that when mark black was doing my brakes and he does them at 130Nm(96 ft lbs roughly)
but I am calibrating steves to 172Nm +/- 3 (130 ft ibs roughly) so that wheel def aint coming off lol.

  20. I've always over tightened them, I normally do them up at 140lbs so do most of the other guys I do track days with who also have meganes

  21. its on the door sticker, 140NM

  22. Its 140nm as its marked inside the door , i have a aldi special torque wrench its seems ok , just make sure you wind the spring tension off when not using it

  23. yes I know but never seems tight enough to me, I've always done them over tight , what do you do yours up to Martin ?

  24. +1 for Teng.

140nm is more than enough; Any more and your just likely to damage threads etc.

Fwiw I have always done mine to 130

  26. 130NM, just doesn't feel tight enough at all to me, almost spanner tight not torque wrench tight

  27. touch of Optimol stop corrosion and 130Nm, no issue last 12 years and plenty track use, have no faith in thread integrity over 130 really.
