My R26 which Ive had for a couple of months now. Starting off with small aesthetics changes. The car to begin with... Had some custom seat belt pads made... Also put my personal number plates on as well as change the rear Renault Sports badge back to original. Looks loads better IMO...
Had my Carbon Fibre door bullets delivered today... Ive stuck them on so just waiting to remove the tape before I show some pictures. Thought I'd have a go at cleaning my front 2 seatbelts as well. They were disgusting... I soaked them in ariel for a couple of hours to loosen any dirt, then used a pressure washer to clean the grime off. I then used Fairy liquid followed by fabric cleaner to try and get the staining out. It worked pretty well although they arnt 100%. I've now hung them to dry... You can still see a small amount of staining but they look loads better. Once I have my seatbelt pads on there wont be much belt to see. I'm hoping the belts retract better as well as they were a little slow.
Just had my Steering Wheel returned by Royal Steering Wheels. Massive improvmenet. I swapped the wheel out for a Clio Mk3 one first as I wasnt keen on the original. Ive still got to put the Renault Sport badge on the bottom though...
Clio mk3 wheel is the way to go. Such a nice feel over the original wheel. What else you got planned? Never ending is it [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Haha very true, nothing planned for mine now as it’s at the stage I always intended to get it to. What about yours?
I've had my centre console arm rest delivered so need to clean that up and fit that. Also new gear knob and Mats if I can find any. I'm quite happy with the exterior, may lower it slightly in the next couple of months.
Genuine Mats are impossible to find. I've got ktec ones with the white tubing. They are pukka mate. The drivers mat dont slip around either. Recommend them highly Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
I do like the ktec ones, and I may have to settle for them eventually. Mine arn't the worst out there but I think the interior always looks "on point" with new mats.
Ive seen plenty of LHD versions but no RHD. I guess the French dont care so much about their interiors, or they look after them better than us
Replaced my centre console with an arm rest today. Had to paint the trim though as they had loads of marks/scratches on them. I used car metalic spray paint but ensure a good stick I used a plastic primer. To dull the shine I used a Matte finish lacquer. I had to do it this way because the colour I wanted was only available in Metalic. Before removal pictures... After replacement. Also took the opportunity to replace the gear knob that I received today... I placed a Carbon fibre Gater cover over the old Silver one which makes a massive improvement. Also want to get the leather arm rest reupholstered.
Is funny!! In my old 225 I did exactly the otherwise!! The armrest bother me when shifting, so...out! I got a R26 one and did fit. In my actual 250 did the same, but is not easy to find a center console without armrest. God job man! Look incredible that GW
Yeh I know what you mean. When I took it out it felt weird changing gear. But its something I will get used to.
Ah nice one. You got the gearknob you was after! Where did you manage to get it in the end? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
From these... https://www.renaultgenuineparts.com/renault-328650530r-gear-knob/ As it wasnt clear which one the correct one was, I bought 2 different SKU's. I've returned the other back to them. Glad I found one at a decent price. On Ebay your looking at £180 including postage
It seems expensive but with how much it transforms the horrible feel of the gearshift I don't think it's all that bad. I paid £115 for mine but I have the R.S stamped one. I'd much rather pay that price than 800+ for one of them ghastly looking shifters [emoji846] Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Is all about tastes. Your money, your choice, and everybody happy! When I got my Meg, it comes with that same knob. I´d like it, but don´t like the words "Renault Sport" or "RS" everywhere. For that reason I removed the badges and something more. The only one who need to like it is to @danmc_82 Is only my opinion boys!
Its a massive upgrade over the original gear knob. It felt rough and clunky in my hand. Love the new one, nice weight and feel. Its probably my favorite change to the car so far. TBH I quite like the look of those ZPO gear shifters, but the height puts me off, as well as the massive price tag. A sequential one would be amazing though.
Small update: just bought some H&R springs from Germany so looking forward to getting them. 25mm drop all round.
I'm always late to the party so I always end up paying stupid money for stuff. I guess there arnt many around anymore (Renault Sport ones) so prices have gone up.
Springs have arrived from Germany. Only took 6 days Cant get them fitted for a few weeks though as the garage is fully booked up
I got H&R on mine and they are really good. Going to be changing to grams in the next few months purely just for the drop and that's it Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Its probably 15-20 mm over standard I'd say. Others drop a bit more but they are nice springs. I'm probably going to change to grams purely for a bit more drop because I've removed the rear seats otherwise I wouldn't change Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Had my springs on for a couple of weeks now and they feel great. Dont feel any different to the standard suspension which is what I was after. They may feel a tiny bit firmer but I guess thats due to being a shorter spring. No complaints and very happy
The paint... https://www.directcarparts.co.uk/wo...ch-pro-aerosol-spray-paint-grey-metallic-p149 The Lacquer... https://www.halfords.com/motoring/p...aints/halfords-matt-lacquer-300ml-370269.html Any plastic primer should do.
As the Carbon Bonnet group buy fell through I decided to get one for myself. Luckily a member was selling an R26.R one so I snapped it up. Came with the decals on which I've now removed and smoothed out the rough edges. Waiting for some UV resistant lacquer before I fit it.
