My R26

  1. Finally picked my car up from RS Tuning. The clutch shat itself at Spa after 4 laps on the first of 2 booked days, so i wasn't happy, second time the slave had failed in 2000 miles, took 2 weeks for it to be recovered as well. While Paul had it, i asked him to carry out the rod job and see if he could find out why the slave kept failing. He reckons the forks were bent on the plate causing the slave to over reach, all sorted now. Had a map tweak and the torque turned up, made 312/340, really does pull well now, can't wait for the next trackday. Cant recommend RS Tuning enough, they know their stuff.

  2. Why was the forks bent on the clutch mate, thought someone fitted you a new one, surely you got some money back from the guy who fitted it mate

  3. Great news Martin, must of missed it as been a month since Spa. Hope you have a few track days lined up to drive it properly!

  4. Cheers Tel, got a couple booked, and a couple more I'm trying to fit in around work and the kids. Not really sure how the forks ended up bent, bit disappointed it wasn't spotted the 2nd time, cost me a fair bit with the lost trackdays, parts and labour, but you live and learn, Rs tuning for me from now on

  5. Glad it got sorted out by Paul & Rstuning

Shame the guy who did it wrong twice just happily took your money and won't even reply regarding the problem . A joke considering how well known he is

  7. So basically you had a brand new clutch fitted, gear box rebuild, slave, the whole job lot, took it to a track day and it failed after 5 laps of brands hatch, took car back, new slave , took it to Spa, 4 laps later it shit it's self again, so after getting it towed back from Spa it went to RS tuning to have it all done again at your own cost, you've had no reply from your messages to the (Renault specialist) you took it to and no offer of compensation for the big fook up that was made, not good , disgusting infact.

  16. Yeah please do bud.

I say I'll track it but never get round. Would be nice to push it a little :-)

  17. It's not good whoever did it in the first place especially at the cost of a smf and clutch and the labour!!! I think you mentioned in a previous thread about who did it and it's the same as who did mine!! If I read it right

Good figures! How much did the rods cost to fit?

  19. really glad you got this sorted out mate.

God knows how bad it must of been to have the clutch shit itself in Belgium after it had already done it a few weeks before :worried:
