Continuing the theme of problems with my megane, has anyone come across a problem with the doors not shutting on a 225?! It literally just bounced off when I close and won't latch!!? I've tried things from oiling it to really trying to close if but it's not having it! It's gotta be something to do with the mechanism I'm thinking?! Any help would be great cheers!
Is the latch lining up properly? I.e. has the door dropped and thats whats stopping it or does it line up buy doesn't 'click' home?
Try actuating the latch mech with something like a screw driver to see if it works but It sounds like you will need a new door lock actuator setup. I've just had to do both on my Laguna Coupe and it hurt the wallet!
I took mine out and cleaned inside, they rust up in the winter. I had exactly the same problem last week! For now try lifting the mechanism up half way and scraping the top bar with a flat screwdriver to get the rust off and spray it with wd40 and that should work for a while.
Cheers for everyone's help, it would appear its definitely a fault with the actuator, I will try that quick fix with rust mate and if no luck will just buy a second hand part off eBay to get it going as the car is off the road now because of it!
Also I found once you've got the rust out, if the door still won't close, pull the handle and as the door shuts let it go, and it should work! Weird things us Renault owners have to come up with!
Cheers! I'm not lying but the drivers side door has starter doing it now it's a rite pain in the arse! Gunna try all the tricks I've read inc the ones on here see if I get any joy!
Mine has gone again, I've been avoiding taking the door card off as it looks a right ball ache but I might have to! Getting in the passengers side and climbing over attracts some strange looks!
