Hi Guys, My bonnet on the megane will not close. It just doesnt go past the latch- I have tried to use WD40 on the mechaism . When you use the internal lever in the passenger seat- part of the mechanism operates but the hook doesn't seem to move?
Nope , unsure how to - sprayed it with WD40 and when I go to close it just doesnt seem to want to lock on the main closing catch
Have you stuck a screwdriver in the latch to see if it moves. It’s not in the locked position already before your trying to shut it
Yeah I think it is in the locked position- its down? I have tried to move the latch up with a screwdriver but it doesnt seem to move.
Had issue on my Megane 3 DCi where it wouldn’t latch. Degreased the catch then used WD40 to lubricate and second person to pull the handle inside while I made it latch manually. Repeat until it work consistently. most likely will be the retaining clip that latches it that’s stuck.
