265 Mtech short shifter fitting issue

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Meg16_Beth, Jul 15, 2017.

  1. ok so the car's now in bits and we're trying to remove the pin that holds the old shifter arm. There isn't enough space to hammer out the smaller pin.

Also the removal tool doesn't sit flush with the pin (or so i think)

  2. The removal tool pushes the bigger and the smaller roll pin in one, i ended up using a hex bolt, and used a socket, it is a faff tbf. Hold it steady and keep an eye on it being straight etc.

  3. Pins out.... How did people put it back in. Even the most Frankensteinien vice grip won't push it in

  4. I managed with a hammer, but it is tight.

  5. I used a c-clamp

  6. We just hammered it back in. It's in and it shifts. Hurray :grinning:

  7. Or just use an M7 bolt.
