Just had a new alloy on my 250 to replace a damaged one, the tyre fitters said they couldn't move the pressure sensor from the old alloy to the new one as it damages the seal when they remove it and I'd have to buy a new one. Can anyone confirm this? Or is it possible to get a new seal from somewhere? Thanks, Ben
Just phone Renault parts department at the local dealer, they confirm the valves are one time use only due to the adhesive strip used to stick them to the inside of the rim so new alloy means new sensor. £36+VAT from the local dealer and I guess ads will be a few quid cheaper.
Theres no adhesive strip and removing the sensor doesnt damage the seal. Ive had mine took off and refitted when having my wheels refurbed, and ive even brought a new sensor for my spare.
Mine were also removed and refitted when my alloys were refurbished. Still working fine after 7 months. I think someone is telling you porky pies mate.
Mine wheels were refurbished and sensors weren't affected. Quite often people at Renault Garage have not much knowledge about Renault Sport cars, but now it seems they don't know much even about standard cars they sell, because sensors are the same for Renault and Renault Sport Meganes.
