MOT Woes!!!

  1. So, cars been off the road and on the drive for the past 6 months now. Good bit of weather coming up as well as some meets so I taxed the Megane, fitted some new rear brake pads, checked fluid levels and took it for its MOT which my mate does so I was hoping for no dramas!! Then back home to fit my new 3" decat and off for a remap on Tuesday at a local tuning company.

Needless to say the car failed its MOT for a perished tyre valve and a short drivers side drop link! I couldn't believe it. It's now also meant that I haven't fitted the decat and have had to cancel the remap.

  2. cars looking good. Mine failed its MOT on Thursday wish that was all that was wrong with mine!!

  3. Cheers mate. Not bothered cleaning it for the MOT. Was going to do it after but I'll not be bothering at all now.

Tried to fit the blanking plate for the recirc valve yesterday and dropped one of the bolts behind the engine. Totally lost my head and slammed the bonnet shut.

I'll have another go on Sunday!

  4. Ahhh, that's harsh Ric :worried:. Things always seem to go wrong when you have something planned. In the same week I had my re-map planned, the OS rear spring decided it wanted to snap . I nearly had to cancel my re-map as well, but luckily I managed to get it fixed before the re-map day.

Mine is booked in tomorrow for it's MOT and as I was checking all the lights yesterday, I discovered I had a brake light out . So I've gotta attempt to fix it today.

  5. How did the MOT go Ben? Mine will be going for its re test on Monday hopefully if I can get these parts fitted.

  6. Car failed unfortunately mate . Insecure cv boot and an incorrectly aligned headlight. Apparently, the cv boot becoming insecure is quite a common problem, down to the clip being a crappy part. Luckily, as the car is still under warranty (just), the repair is covered as part of the MOT test warranty. Should get the car back tomorrow.
