Momo removable steering wheel

  1. not noticed much on the forum about people changing out the steering wheel for a smaller racing wheel. Has anyone done it, what did you fit and are you pleased...any recommendations or pics available

    Thanks

  2. I had a 320mm momo ,on my R26. I bought the Clio, with a standard wheel, and its like driving a bus!. I will be swapping back to the momo soon,, but still using Cruise etc.I find the smaller wheel, makes me feel more connected to the road.Sorry, no photos.

  3. I'll be fitting an omp wheel soon with a cruise control bracket from a forum member on cliosport.net. I had a 300mm trecento uno on my clio and loved it.

The Renault sports seem to have bus wheels. Just need to source a megane boss kit but they aren't cheap. Probably be after the mot in September but knowing me I'll get impatient...

Will post some pics up when it's done.

  4. The momo boss is around 60-70 for a megane....is that around what you have seen too?

  5. Cheapest branded one is a simoni one from either demon tweeks or jjc race and rally for £55 posted but they're out of stock for a few weeks.

The omp and momo are the price you've found. I have seen one on eBay for £30, an unbranded one but no one has any feed back of it so unsure whether to take a risk with on it at the moment.

  6. Thanks for the info. I will order up a momo one today. I have an old omp steering wheel to try on it for size except the suade has gone smooth.
Any views on 300 or 320 or 330 as the best size?

  7. Anything below 330 will feel too small , 330 to 350 is good

  8. My one at home is just under 320 outside diameter so I guess that is how they are measured. I think you are right around 330 May be best

  9. For me, I wouldn't want to go smaller than 330, bought a mount from a lad on FB to keep the cruise control, handy for the trips to spa and beyond : )

  11. I really like small wheels so I'm going 300mm, not everyones choice but hey we're all different..
