MK3 RS Ohlins v standard

  1. Hi all just a quick question re the suspension differences, is the Ohlins optional equipment a significant improvement over the standard 275 RS SUSPENSION ?

Is there a difference in resale value also ?

  2. Huge difference in both, ohlins handle beautifully once set up properly and command a premium on resale too.

But if your buying second hand make sure they’ve had a recent service as this is over 1k to have done otherwise.

  3. Ok thanks for the info

  4. I had the standard cup suspension and now the Ohlins. There are oceans between both. The standard one run really good, but is a abrupt for a daily or B roads. The Ohlins work properly everywhere with the correct set up. There is a kind of guide where you can see recommend set up. Obviously you can adapt those recommendations to your drive style or whatever.

  5. I have them. Never tried std cup shocks.

    Second hand can get pricey.

If you are buying them in need of a refub. Prob about a £800 - £1000. You sometime see ones 'tested' rather than refurbed.

Ad the refurb and you are upto +£2k.

And they will still be looking cosmetically rough. No-one seems to do refurb on the case at the same time?

Others seem to replace at this point. Some KW's with a specific spec Or Nitrons at £3k. Then can sell there Ohlins for a bit of money back.

The only downside is you loose the OEM bit.

Pretty mad in the first pace that Renault was fitting Ohlins and Sachs to Factory cars. Proper specialist stuff.
